May 10, 2024 … God’s Saving Grace …

May 10, 2024 …  God’s Saving Grace

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...  Please take the time to take in this song with lyrics with The Bill Gaither Quartet singing … Sinner Saved By Grace … Powerfully sung of how we Christians were saved by receiving God’s saving grace thru our faith in His finished work on the cross, . not by anything we did.

Saved from death by God's Saving Grace

==========

Highlight Passage: … Ephesians 2:8 [NLT] …

God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.

Paul shows fellow Christians that it was our faith in Christ’s sacrifice, not anything we could do, to receive God’s saving grace.

Highlight Passage (in context): … Ephesians 2:1-10 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

… The Apostle Paul, having experienced God’s saving grace by faith in Christ, shares the truth of God saving us, not by our works, but thru our faith In what He, the Lord, did on the cross to save us from our sins.

Reference Passage: … Romans 11:6 [NLT] …

And since it is through God’s kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God’s grace would not be what it really is—free and undeserved.

… The Apostle Paul explains - to fellow Christians (and to us) - that nothing we can do, but rather thru our faith in Christ, that we receive God’s saving grace.

Reference Passage: … 2Timothy 1:9 [NLT] …

For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was His plan from before the beginning of time—to show us His grace through Christ Jesus.

… Paul teaches Timothy and us that it was God’s plan to provide His saving grace to any/al who would believe in Christ’s finished work on the cross.

Reference Passage: … Titus 2:11 [NLT] …

11  For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people.

… God saving grace is revealed and received by those who believe in Christ free gift of grace thru our faith in Christ’s death and resurrection.

Reference Passage: … Hebrews 4:16 [NLT] …

16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most..

… God, thru the Author of Hebrews, shows that we can BOLDLY come to God’s throne of grace to receive strength when we need it.

Reference Passage: … James 4:6  [NLT] …

And He gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say,  “God opposes the proud  but gives grace to the humble.”

… James quotes from Proverbs 3:34 to show that it takes genuinely humble faith in Christ to receive God’s saving and sanctifying grace.

My Devotional JournalToday’s Our Daily Bread  Author, Marvin Williams -  AT THIS LINK  -  wrote about New York City, responding to several deaths by people trying to escape being trapped in elevators, … trying to get individuals trapped in elevators to stay calm, to notify help, and wait for responders to come and save them.

And that NYC campaign illustrates what we should do to humbly surrender our sin situation to God, humbly praying in faith to reach out and surrender ourselves to receive God’s free-gift of salvation to any/all who would truly have faith that Christ died for our sins.  There’s nothing we can do to save ourselves, other than surrendering in faith to receive God’s saving grace.  I’m there now, as a The Gaither Band sings in the linked song, a sinner saved by God’s grace … now reaching out to receive HIs sanctifying grace.  How about you?

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, …for giving me Your everything so that I can receive Your saving and sanctifying grace

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray. again today, that all reading here will join me today, … to surrender in faith to receive Your grace, Lord, again today..     … Amen
