Reference Passage #1 - Matthew 11: 28-29 [NKJV]
28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. …”
… Jesus’ invitation of compassion …

Reference Passage #2 - John 3: 16 [NKJV]
… Do I really need to copy this verse here? I think I would insult readers to do so.

Reference Passage #3 - 1st Peter 5: 6-7 [NKJV] …
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
… Peter teaching Christians about God’s mighty hand of mercy and deliverance, for which we must humble ourselves and come to Him in faith.

My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread devotional entry, authored by Marion Stroud, highlighted the story of Jesus putting His compassion and power to heal on display as man with only a modicum of faith brought his son to Jesus in a crowd of people following The Messiah. And Jesus, as He so often did, during His earthly ministry, invited the boy to be brought to Him for healing.

I’m reminded that Jesus wants to heal us all, broken as we are (see attached photo); and The Lord has called to us to come to Him. We don’t know how and when He will heal all who are born-again believers. We only know that He will. So, today, why don’t we all, as Peter writes in 1st Peter 5: 17, “… cast all our cares on Him because He cares for [us].”

My Prayer for Today O Lord, … Heal me, Lord! … Amen
