My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread devotional entry, authored by David C McCasland, took his readers (me included) to the powerful true story of the consistent faith walk of the Prophet Daniel. Walking the walk of faith for over 80 years of service to God and steadfast faith in His Lord, Daniel witnessed to three regimes of rulers. And in the highlight passage from Daniel, Chapter 6 [linked above], in the later years of Daniel’s walk in Babylon, we read of Daniel being put in the lion’s den because of an unjust plot against Daniel’s faith. But as we know from this wonderful story, God protected and delivered the steadfast Daniel from the clutches of death.

And isn’t that what the steadfast love of God has done for us in King Jesus’ deliverance from the clutches of sure death to eternal life (I’m sure many are thinking of John 3: 16 right now). But also meditate on the Old Testament passages above from Prov. 3: 5-6 and Lam. 3: 22-23, which clearly declare God’s steadfast love and mercies to those who trust in Him, mercies that never cease and are new every morning.

Today, I’m bolstered to “walk-the-walk” of faith and live in Christ’s ever faithful love for me. … HOW ABOUT YOU?

My Prayer for Today O Lord, … Your mercies are new every morning and Your faithfulness is forever. I rest in You!! … Amen
