My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread devotional entry, authored by Marvin Williams, quotes a worldly reality from a book by author, Michael Sandel. Williams writes: “There are some things money can’t buy - but these days, not many” according to Michael Sandel, author of What Money Can’t Buy. A person can buy a prison-cell upgrade for $90 a night, the right to shoot an endangered black rhino for $250,000, and your doctor’s cell phone number for $1,500. It seems that “almost everything is up for sale.”

But then Williams places an even more important caveat on what Sandel wrote about money being able to buy so much in this world, as Williams continues … But one thing money can’t buy is redemption - freedom from the stranglehold of sin.

Today, from the strong truth of God’s word, the Apostle Paul helped Christians in Ephesus (and you and me) realize [see today’s highlight passage from Ephesians 1: 3-14] that there is only one way our redemption from sin was purchased and that was with the blood of the finished work of our Savior on the cross [see also Jesus’ declaration of His finished work on the cross in John 19: 30, copied above].

And I pray that any reading here with me today realize that when ANYONE who believes in and declares, from genuine repentance of our sin, in the realization of our redemption in Christ, as Big Daddy Weave sings in the song, linked above, … he or she IS REDEEMED!! … saved forever to an eternal life with Christ [you, no doubt can quote this truth from John 3: 16]

So, do you realize today that Jesus has bought our freedom from our sin? … And, … are we living in that freedom? … I pray so!

My Prayer for Today O Lord, … I walk in the freedom of Your finished work on the cross! … HALLELUJAH!!! … Amen
