April 29, 2015 … ALWAYS Accessible

Daily Berry Patch Devotions in 2015 - Day 119

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK  … Please take the time to take in a video of the lyrics sung by the group , Third Day, singing the old Christian hymn… Blessed Assurance, declaring the reality of the Christian assurance to worship and serve a God Who is always accessible to its born-again family.

Highlight Passage 1st John 5: 14-15 [NKJV] …
14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
… Yes, we serve a God who is ALWAYS accessible and hears us wherever we are and whenever we come to Him.

… Just before God’s chosen entered the Promised Land, Moses declares to the people, that our God will never forsake us and even goes ahead of us to prepare the way.

… Paul’s declaration of God’s accessibility through prayer - IN THE SPIRIT

My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread author, Joe Stowell, used a teaching illustration with which I’m sure many of us can identify. I think most all with me here today would agree that modern-day smart phones can be very helpful and powerful for reminders and informational searches, … even for Bible studies. However, as in the attached photo depicts, when the cell-phone batteries go dead and we have no alternative power source, these devices become inaccessible and it can be very frustrating. … Can a sense an “Amen!”

But the Scriptures above point Christians toward a wonderful reality … that we serve a God who is ALWAYS ACCESSIBLE. And I’m going to stop this morning and thank my Lord for never forsaking us (even going ahead of us - see Deut. 31: 8); … for being our Abba Father, available in prayer anytime/anywhere (see the Romans 8 passages); … and as the Apostle John wrote in the highlight passages above, KNOWING that we were saved by a God Whom we can ALWAYS trust to be there and hear our petitions. Yes, … ALWAYS and ANYTIME and ANYWHERE!!! Will you join me in praising our ALWAYS AVAILABLE GOD!!!

My Prayer Today: Oh Lord, I know those with me here today praise and thank You for being there for us 24/7, … for hearing us when we pray, … and for interceding on our behalf … ALWAYS!!! Amen
