My Journal for Today:  Today’s Our Daily Bread author, Bill Crowder, reminded his readers (me) that it’s difficult to find relief from the day-by-day struggles and stresses of life, … i.e., to find rest from the clamor of this world, … especially during this hustle-bustle time of year.

We live in a world where the information glut is almost overwhelming and much of what we have to process is bad news. And then there is the factor of our human flesh (i.e., see Jer. 17:9), where our deceitful hearts want to control everything, creating a heavy stress load. And we simply can’t control so much of life; can we? And what it the result? … Stress, frustration, and anxiety.

So, where do we go? … What do we do? … Well, if you take in all that God has led me to write above this morning, especially the message sung by Alan Jackson in today’s song as wall as God’s word, … you will have the answer to these questions as well as God’s prescription for our anxieties. I’ll leave it to you to decide whether you want to control things today or just do all you can and leave the worrying to Jesus.

My Prayer Today:  Heavenly Father, … I’ll do all I can, Lord. But You’re going to have to take care of the rest. … Amen
