My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Mike Wittmer … AT THIS LINK   tells of archaeologist Gabriel Barkay, in 1979 uncovering two silver scrolls, which, when finally read - two years later-  revealed a clear Hebrew translation of Numbers 6:24-26, which says,  “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.” .  And it was also interesting that these scrolls, the oldest known bits of Scripture, were found in a cave in the area known as the valley of Hinnom, which was a site near Jerusalem where children were sacrificed and the dead were buried and the trash of the city was dumped, an area Jesus referred to as “Gehenna,” which was a reference to hell.

My friends, my rather long description of the ODB entry today calls attention to what Jeremiah prophesied to God’s people in the highlight passage as well as Isaiah (see Is. 53:6, … that all of us are sinners and deserving of God’s wrath.  But glory be!!! God has provided a way for His faithful remnant of believers to be saved and to live with the Lord forever in Heaven (hear the linked song and take in the Reference Scriptures).

All Christians reading with me should KNOW that though we all deserve Gehenna, we, who have surrendered to receive God’s saving grace, will forever have a home in the New Jerusalem, written about my John in Revelation 21:1-7.  Hope to see you there!

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for saving me to be with You forever in the New Jerusalem.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to be with You, Lord, in Heaven.     Amen
