Daily Berry Patch Devotions in 2016 - Day 159
Devotional Song: … GO TO THIS LINK … Please take the time to take in a You Tube video of an anonymous worship group singing, … Let The Redeemed of the Lord Say So, worshipfully declaring the need of all Christians to go forth and declared the redemption and reformation which has taken place in the lives of all of us who are born again … in and by Christ.
Highlight Passage: Mark 5:19 [NKJV] …
“Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.”
… Jesus charges the healed demoniac to go forth and tell of God’s mercy/healing.
===========
Highlight Context – Mark 5:1-20 [NKJV] … USE THIS LINK …
… Jesus heals a demon possessed man and charges him to be a witness to others of God’s mercy and healing grace.
============
Reference Passage #1 - Psalm 107:1-2 [NKJV] … USE THIS LINK … … Let all who are saved say so!!
Reference Passage #2 - Acts 1:8 [NKJV] …
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
… Jesus, at His ascension, charges all who are redeemed to go forth as a witness to the glory of that redemption.
My Journal for Today: … Our Daily Bread author, Lawrence Darmani, reminded me with a personal story (see ODB link below) of how my life changed FOREVER at the age of 40 when The Lord redeemed me from my brokenness and sin. And from that moment on, I have take his charge seriously (see Acts 1:8) to go forth and be a witness to His saving and sanctifying grace.
Certainly any born-again Christian reading with me here today who has taken in the linked song, the attached photo from ODB, and the highlight scriptures above, feels the call of God to go forth and tell the story of how Jesus has redeemed us, … how He is reshaping our lives into His own image, … and how the lives of those who don’t know Him will be changed FOREVER if they would just repent and receive His saving grace.
So, fellow Christian, let’s go do what the old Christmas hymn sings and ”Go Tell It On the Mountain that Jesus Christ is Lord!”
My Prayer Today: O, Heavenly Father, … Lord, give me divine appointments, even today, to share Your love and mercy and forgivingness with others. Amen
