My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Marvin Williams, AT THIS LINK uses the story of the famous dog, Hachiko (see photo), … who, after his master died suddenly at work, came back to the train station every day for 10 years where the master had left him, … waiting for his master’s return.
The story of Hachiko reminded the ODB author of the Bible story of Simeon (see highlight passage) who also waited patiently for years for God’s promise that Simeon would not see death until he saw the Messiah; and Simeon’s patience was rewarded when Mary & Joseph brought Jesus to the Temple for circumcision after the Lord’s birth.
I don’t know about my fellow readers here; but this old disciple believes in the promises of Jesus and God’s word in the Scriptures above; and as the linked song sings, what a glorious day it will be when Jesus comes back for His Bride. And as John wrote in Rev 22:20, I say, with emphasis … “Come soon, Lord Jesus!”
I’m ready; … are you?!!
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for Your promise to come back for us, … Your Bride.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray that all reading here will join me, …to wait patiently - even today - for Jesus’ return. … Amen
