My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, James Banks, AT THIS LINK uses the award-winning “perpetual stew,” (see photo) which has been cooking in a Bangkok restaurant for over 45 years, to illustrate how it is often worth it to wait on some things in life.
And then, the ODB author used the story of Habakkuk in the OT to show that waiting on God and His ways can be confounding and confusing at times; but as Habakkuk learned, it’s best to patiently wait on God to let His will unfold … in God’s timing, not as we might want things to transpire.
We’re impatient and selfish creatures, aren’t we? And that’s why I so identify with Habakkuk’s confusion. I look around, and like the Prophet, and I’m confused by what’s going on. But I’ve learned, as did Habakkuk, and what John Waller sings in the linked song about waiting on God’s will and His ways is ALWAYS worth it.
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for Your ways which are ALWAYS best.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray that all reading here will join me, …to sit patiently and wait on God’s ways. … Amen
