Reference Passage #4 - Hebrews 8:12 [NKJV] …
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.
… A restatement of the truth of Jeremiah 31:34 in the NT by the Author of Hebrews.

My Journal for Today:  My Our Daily Bread author, Cindy Hess Kasper, used a personal story to illustrate here teaching today about God’s forgiveness and faithfulness She wrote: When I was growing up, one of my favorite books was Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. In one amusing passage, young Anne, by mistake, adds a skin medication instead of vanilla to the cake she is making. Afterward, she exclaims hopefully to her stern-faced guardian, Marilla, “Isn’t it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?”

That’s a wonderful thought isn’t it? … Every day, when the sun rises [or might we say, “when the SON rises” - see attached photo], our God is willing and infinitely capable - if we are genuinely repentant - to forgive - AND FORGET - our unrighteousness of the previous day. It’s way too incredible to understand for this finite mind; … but nevertheless, God has said it (see above Scripture); and I, for one, believe it.

In fact, … I’ve experienced it … over and over and over again; … the wonderful truth from David’s plea for forgiveness [see the highlight passages], … the languishing truth of Jeremiah [see Jeremiah 31:34 and Lamentations 3:22-23]; … and the promise of cleansing anytime and anywhere that we genuinely confess and seek God’s forgiveness [see 1st John 1:9].

It’s truly amazing grace, isn’t it? … And I can use what Jordan Smith so beautifully sings (see link above) … EVERY DAY!! … How about you?

My Prayer Today:  O, Heavenly Father, … My Lord, … I write here today, with such hope for tomorrow because of Your love, and mercy, and grace … new every morning!! Amen
