My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Poh Fang Chia, uses a personal story of where he grew up to illustrate that everyone needs Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The ODB author wrote: About 230 families and individuals live at MacPherson Gardens, Block 72 in my neighborhood. [See photo] Each person has his or her own life story. On the tenth floor resides an elderly woman whose children have grown up, gotten married, and moved out. She lives by herself now. Just a few doors away from her is a young couple with two kids—a boy and a girl. And a few floors below lives a young man serving in the army. He has been to church before; maybe he will visit again on Christmas Day. I met these people last Christmas when our church went caroling in the neighborhood to spread Christmas cheer.

This morning, reading today’s ODB entry, and thinking back on my vacation trip last week, I’m under a bit of conviction. On our flight back home from the week of family time, my wife and I had to sit in separate rows; and I was in the middle seat of three for our two hour flight. And sitting between two people for all that time, I never once interacted with these two, either who could’ve been on their way to hell. UGH! … and I didn’t care enough to share my story of our Savior with them.

During this Christmas season, as Steve Green sings in the song linked above, we’re going to be walking by many, many people who need the Lord. Some will be happy and know Him as their Savior. Others will be hurting and will not. But I pray that we all will take any opportunity to open up to those who might listen and share our testimony of salvation.

Who knows, one of them might respond and surrender to receive the greatest Christmas gift of all.

My Prayer Today: Abba Father, … King Jesus, … Precious Spirit … Forgive me, Lord, for not being enough of a trumpet of Your glory. … Amen
