Highlight Verse[s]: Jeremiah 9:24 [NLT] … 24  But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: … that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things.
… We must boast only in our God and His grace to/for us.

Highlight Passage [context]: Jeremiah 9:23-26 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK
… The Prophet carries the word of God to His people concerning humility.

Reference Passage : … Proverbs 3:5-6 [NLT] … 5  Trust in the Lord with all your heart; … do not depend on your own understanding. 6  Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.
…We must trust our Lord in ALL CIRCUMSTANCES since He is the one who takes us thru this life for His glory.

Reference Passage : … 1 Corinthians 1:30-31 [NLT] … 30 God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin. 31 Therefore, as the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord.” [Quoting from Jer. 9:24]
… God, thru Paul, exhorts us Christians to boast ONLY in the providence and grace of our Lord, Who provides all we need.

Reference Passage : … Philippians 4:19 [NLT] … 19 And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
… Paul reminds Christians that our God is the One Who supplies all our needs.

My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Cindy Hess Kasper, uses a reference from the 60s to illustrate how we can let pride or profit get in the way of our witness for Christ. The ODB author writes … In the early 1960s, some unusual paintings featuring a person or animal with huge, sad eyes became popular. [see photo] Some considered the work “kitschy”—or tacky—but others delighted in it. As the artist’s husband began to promote his wife’s creations, the couple grew quite prosperous. But the artist’s signature—Margaret Keane—didn’t appear on her work. Instead, Margaret’s husband presented his wife’s work as his own. Margaret fearfully remained silent about the fraud for twenty years until the couple’s marriage ended. It took a courtroom “paint-off” between them to prove the true artist’s identity.

Today’s ODB entry sort of slapped me in the face emotionally with a strong reminder that seeking after the approval of others is one of my worst strongholds of sin. And the songs linked above brought me back the reality that ALL my hope is found in God’s love, mercy, and grace. I need nothing more!! He truly is my ALL-IN-ALL!!

And so, if I’m going to brag about anything today, let me brag on my Savior and Lord!!!

My THANKFULNESS: … Oh Abba Father, … thank You, Lord, … for giving us all we need in life!

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, … King Jesus, … I pray, Lord, that all reading here can, and will, join me to praise our Lord for all we have and all we’ll ever need … HIM!! … Amen
