December 14, 2021 … Power In Prayer …

Berry Patch Devotions in 2021 - Day 348

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...  Please take the time to take in a song and lyrics from Tauren Wells singing … When We Pray … poignantly singing of how we, as disciples of Christ, must bring our most desperate needs to the Lord in prayer.

==============

Highlight Passage: …Nehemiah 2:4-5  [NLT] …

The king asked, “Well, how can I help you?” With a prayer to the God of heaven, I replied,“If it please the king, and if you are pleased with me, your servant, send me to Judah to rebuild the city where my ancestors are buried.” </i>

…God’s promise to bless those who wait on Him.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Leslie Benson Schuldt, AT THIS LINK writes about a Christian, witnessing to a book store owner, … offering up a simple, yet humble, prayer that he would be able to use some books by C.S. Lewis to witness to the store owner; and after the prayer, the conversation led to a productive spiritual discussion.

In much the same way the ODB author today referred to the power of the prayers of Nehemiah (see highlight passage) before he confronted King Artaxerses, prayers to soften the king’s heart to help Nehemiah fulfill the call on his heart by God to go to Jerusalem to rebuild the walls around the city.

And - prayerfully - if you’ve taken in the linked song and the Scriptures above, we all agree with the many authors in God’s word above, … including no less than Jesus Himself (see Mark 11:24) … that there is great power in our thankful, humble, and surrendered prayer to a merciful and grace-giving God.   So, why do we hesitate to bring our desperate needs to our Lord … yes, even right now !!!

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for giving me access to Your throne of Grace today thru my humble prayers to You, my LORD.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, …  to bring our most desperate needs to You, Lord, begging for Your enabling grace.      … Amen
