My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread Author, Tim Gustafson … USE THS LNK - … recalled and wrote about recalling his dad remembering and telling of being with his brothers in December, 1941, recalling what had just happened then, when Pearl Harbor was bombed. That kind of memory, acceding to ODB author, is called a “Flashbulb Memory.” because it is like that time is caught in a moment we’ll always remember where we were, … like it was caught in a flash photo.
Where were you on “9/11,” when the twin towers came down in NYC? Many of us (as in the photo) remember exactly where we were at that moment, which became a “flashbulb memory” for us. And the Apostle John and other biblical figures relate their “flashbulb memories” in God’s word (see Scriptures shared above), showing us moments of truth, involving our Lord, that were faith-building memories in their lives.
Personally, I’ll never forget where I was when God showed me the reality of His pursuit of my soul. Perhaps you too have your “flashbulb memory” of when you were saved. I sure hope so!
My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank You, …for giving me that memory of when I surrendered my life to follow You.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... giving us the memories of when You became our Messiah and Savior. … Amen
