October 3, 2015:  Surrendered Forever

Daily Berry Patch Devotions in 2015 - Day 275

Devotional Song:  … GO TO THIS LINK …  Please take the time to take in a video of Chris Rice singing Come To Jesus, … expressing the prayer of any who’ve come to Jesus and know of His saving grace … and THEN TO THIS LINK to hear Queen Latifah sing Fix Me Jesus, … the prayer of any who need Jesus’ sanctifying grace … and FINALLY TO THIS LINK to hear Phillips, Craig, and Dean sing their song, All Is Well with the truth of what happens, as it did for the thief on the cross, when one receives God’s grace; … forever all is well.

Highlight Passage:   Luke 23: 43 [NKJV] …
43 And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
…  No matter one’s plight, Jesus will alway accept anyone who surrenders and receives His saving grace.

Highlight Context – Luke 23: 33-43 [NKJV] … USE THIS LINK
…  The hope given to a surrendered thief on the cross with Jesus.

Reference Passage #1 - John 3: 16-17 [NKJV] …
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
… And all who believe this truth will be with Him in paradise just as the thief on the cross.

My Journal for Today:  Today’s Our Daily Bread author, Mart DeHaan, had an interesting take on his devotional entry this date; but God’s Spirit took me in a different direction. If you desire to read DeHaan’s teaching, use the link below in the Blogger Note. However, may I take the liberty to express how God touched me in my quiet time with Him this morning.

And all one needs to do is read/meditate on the highlight and reference scriptures above and take in the three songs I was led to use today as God’s enlightenment for me this date; and any reader will come away with the reality that God will save and sanctify ANYONE, even one like the thief on the cross, who are willing to desperately surrender their will His gift of saving grace, which is offered to any and all who believe on Him as their Messiah.

That thief on the cross [see attached photo] recognized Jesus as His savior and repented of his sins to receive what Jesus was offering. I pray that any reading here have done the same thing; and if so, we will join our Lord in glory one day and get to meet that thief. Personally I really look forward to that opportunity. How about you?

My Prayer Today:  Oh, my Lord, … Thank You for Your saving grace.  … Amen

Blogger Note:  Everyday during this year, my daily devotional blogs are influenced by the reading and study of the online devotional blog entitled Our Daily Bread, distributed online via email by RBC Ministries.  If you GO TO THIS LINK on the date of my blog, you can read/study the ODB blogs; or you can subscribe to the blog via email at that site.
