Berry Patch Devotions in 2020 - Day 223
Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ... Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Michael W Smith and Choir singing … A Mighty Fortress Is Our God … poignantly singing of how, in Christ, we can stand with confidence in all the challenges of life because of the finished work of Christ on our behalf.
==============
Highlight Passage : … 1Peter 2:9 [ESV] ...
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
… God’s promise to His chosen people, … i.e., we Christians, … that we are the “special” ones, chosen our of darkness in to the Light of Christ.

Reference Passage : … Psalms 16:8, 40:8, 46:1, 91:1-2 [ESV] … USE THIS LINK …
… Psalmists, in song and truth, declare that we can trust in God, Who is ALWAYS our refuge and our help in times of trouble.
Reference Passage : … John 14:27 [ESV] …
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
… We NEVER need to be afraid of our position in Christ because of His own promises to His disciples - and to us!
Reference Passage : … Romans 8:38-39 [ESV] …
38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
… God’s promise, thru Paul, that NOTHING can separate us, as Christians, from God’s love/grace.
Reference Passage : … Ephesians 1:13-14 [ESV] … USE THIS LINK …
… God’s promise, thru Paul, to Christians who needed confidence that our salvation is sealed FOREVER in the finished work of Christ as well as our inheritance of His throne.
My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Ruth O’Reilly-Smith, AT THIS LINK writes of the origin of the sports phrase “on the bubble,” which refers to the last race driver trying to qualify for a race or the last team trying to make it into a tournament (see photo), … both anxious to feel secure that they “are in,” the race or the tournament.
Then the ODB author goes on to use that phrase to assure Christians that we NEVER need to fear our position in God’s kingdom because of the finished work of Christ on the cross and our sealed position of faith in receiving our Lord’s saving grace.
And in these troubled times, do I sense my fellow Christian readers joining me with a hearty ”Hallelujah” to the old hymn linked above as well as the Scriptures provided … both of which declare our trust that we never need to feel like we’re “on the bubble” in our relationship with Christ.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for giving me YOUR assurance that my place in Your Kingdom is secure … FOREVER!!
=============
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray, Lord, that all reading here will join me, to praise God that we’re never “on the bubble” with Christ. So, … HALLELUJAH, my fellow Christian, ... WE’RE IN!!! … Amen
