Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...  Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from the groups Elevation Worship and Maverick City singing … Build Your Church … powerfully singing of how our Lord will build His Church on Him as the cornerstone, the Building which will prevail against all who will come against it.

The Biltmore Estate ...

Highlight Passage: …  Matthew 16:18 [NLT] …

Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it

… Jesus shows Peter (and us too) about His intention to build His church to prevail against all who would come against His kingdom.

Highlight Passage (Context): … Matthew 16:13-20 [NLT] …  USE THIS LINK …

… Jesus declaring His Kingdom Church building project to Peter and His disciples.

===============                                                                     .

Reference Passage: … Psalms 127:1-2 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

… Solomon sings of how useless it is for God’s people to build anything without the Lord being at the heart of the building.

Reference Passage: … 1Corinthians 3:11 [ESV] …

11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ.

… Paul shows fellow Christians that God’s people must place The Lord as the foundation of any building project for His kingdom.

Reference Passage: … Ephesians 2:19-20 [ESV] …

19 So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family. 20 Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.

… Paul shows fellow Christians that God intended for all - Gentiles and Jews alike - to be part of His church with Him as the cornerstone of His house of worship.

Reference Passage: … Ephesians 4:12 [ESV] …

12 Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.

… Paul shows that leadership in Christ’s church is to equip God’s people to do Christ’s work in building up His kingdom.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Bill Crowder … AT THIS LINK tells of the enormous building project is was in the 1880s to complete the summer home of George Vanderbilt II which now is known as the Biltmore Estate (see photo).

But, tho the Biltmore Estate is a marvel of human engineering and construction, it pales in comparison to what Jesus related to Peter and His disciples when He declared that He would build His house - i.e., His church - to become so strong that no force on earth could come against it (see highlight passage).

And as any readers with me, taking in the linked song and the Scriptures above, will see, … our Lord has called all of His beloved born-again believers to be involved in His building project to build His church with Him as the cornerstone.  So, what can we do today to build His church?  Will we be using the gifts and talents and strength He has given us to build His church for His glory?   I pray we will.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for enlisting me to help You build Your church.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, …  to become a part of Your building crew, Lord, to use what You’ve given us to build Your church.   .… Amen
