My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread Author - Arthur Jackson AT THIS LINK … the ODB author told of a Christian, John Daniels, who was tragically and instantly stuck by a car and killed just after sharing the love and saving grace of Jesus with a homeless man. And the story of this man sharing God love was transmitted by the news throughout the country for many to hear about God’s love with others.

And I think the ODB story illustrates God’s calling for all of us who believe in Christ’s saving grace … to be willing to share His saving grace by sharing our testimony wherever, and to whomever, will hear us (see photo). Right now I’m thinking of someone who needs Jesus’ saving love/grace; and Im compelled to share Jesus’ love with them. Do you know of anyone who needs the Lord, as sung by Steve Green in the linked song: Well, today’s the day, Jesus is calling us to share His love with that someone. The question is … WILL WE?

My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank You , Lord, … once again … for calling me to reach out and share Your gospel love today.

My Prayer TodayOh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray. again today, that all reading here will join me, … to follow Your call to share Your love with those who need Your love/grace TODAY. … Amen

And I believe, if my readers today have taken in the linked songs by Don Moen and meditated on the Scriptures I’ve provided above, … perhaps we all might lean, with Joe’s daughter’s reply, … don’cha think? Well, I’d sure like to revert to the heart of a child, humbling myself more than I usually do, to just be with - and maybe get a hug from - our Lord today. How about you? I know God’s Spirit is just waiting for all of us to be like those kids in the photo, … who just want a big hug from the Lord. And if you know what Jesus said (on your own look up Rev. 3:20), Jesus is just knocking on the door of our hearts every day; … BUT … will we let Him in?

… The Apostle Peter, teaching fellow Christians, quotes from Levitius 19:2 - see link above, calling on God’s people to live HOLY lives because our God is Holy.

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread Author - Karen Pimpo AT THIS LINK -the ODB author today describes how hard it was for her to create a simple “pinch pot” (see photo), trying for several hours to do so to imitate the model from a professional artist and teacher. And the author used her experience to illustrate how difficult it is to live Godly, … HOLY … lives, imitating our difficult - almost impossible - attempts to live holy lives, imitating the holiness of our Lord.

It doesn’t take a rocket-scientist to see where God’s word is calling His people in today’s ODB entry, does it? No, … we are called to live as God calls us to live, … doing all we can to live as Christ lived - being perfectly Holy and living a perfectly holy life. And very likely we will have results which mirror the ODB author’s attempt to make a “pinch pot” like that of her instructor (again, see photo). But I’ll keep trying to make my life look like that of my Savior! How about you?

My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank You , Lord, … once again … for faithfully … and perfectly … showing me how to follow Your example of live like You lived.

My Prayer TodayOh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray. again today, that all reading here will join me, … to use all we have to fashion our lives to live like You lived, dear Lord. … Amen

Jan 28, 2025 … Our Sure Foundation

Jan 28, 2025 … Our Sure Foundation

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ... Please take the time to take in this song with music and lyrics with Pat Barrett singing … Build My Life promising that God will b a firm foundation upon which to build our lives.

God's "blueprint" for building our lives ...

Highlight Passage: … Isaiah 33:5-6 [NLT] …

5 Though the Lord is very great and lives in heaven, He will make Jerusalem His home of justice and righteousness. 6 In that day He will be your sure foundation, providing a rich store of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of the Lord will be your treasure.

…Isaiah promises God will be the firm foundation for saving and building His eternal home. .

Highlight Passage (in context): … Isaiah 33:2-6 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

… God promises, thru Isaiah, to be the cornerstone firm foundation for His people.

===========

Reference Passage: … Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT] … USE THIS LINK

…God’s promise, through Solomon, that God will provide His sure way for people to follow if they trust in Him..

Reference Passage: … Matthew 7:24-27 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

,,, Jesus teaches on building the foundation of our lives on the solid rock of His teaching (i.e., God’s word - (see photo))

Reference Passage: … Luke 6:48 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

… Luke is reporting on Jesus’ teaching to build our lives on the firm foundation of His word - again (see photo)

Reference Passage: … 1Corinthians 3:11 NLT] … USE THIS LINK

…The Apostle Paul exhorts fellow Christians to build their lives on the foundation of Jesus Christ’s life and His teaching.

Reference Passage: … Ephesians 2:19-22 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

… Paul again teaching fellow Christians that we, born-again Christians, must build our lives with Jesus as our cornerstone.

Reference Passage: … 1Peter 2:4-6 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK …

… The Peter, teaching fellow Christians, quotes from Isaiah 28:16, on God building our lives as His temple with Christ as our firm foundation.

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread Author - Sheridan Voysey … AT THIS LINK … the ODB author related that the foundation of her house needed serious renovation trying to avoid cracks in the wall which were appearing to reveal that the foundation of the home had not been built solidly in the first place.

And if my readers have taken the time to digest the linked song and meditated seriously on the Scriptures provided above, it is clear how God’s word (again see photo) from Solomon, Isaiah in the OT and the Apostles, Paul and Peter, and no less than Jesus, Himself, point believers in Jesus as The Christ to be our firm foundation for life The question for us today is .. ARE WE really building our lives of God blueprint … i.e., HIS WORD?! I sure am trying to do that; … how about you?

My Thanksgiving … Oh, King Jesus, thank You , Lord, … once again … for for being the “Cornerstone” of my life.

My Prayer TodayOh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray. again today, that all reading here will join me, … to use Your word, Lord, as the blueprint and foundation for our lives. … Amen
