… Paul exhorts and encourages fellow Christians to look past our current sufferings to the glory we will see the eternal glory we will inherit thru Christ.

…  James, Jesus’ brother, encourages fellow Christians to consider suffering for Jesus to be an opportunity for the joy of growing closer to the Lord..                                                   

 

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread  Author -  Karen Huang … AT THIS LINK  - the ODB author, in the emotional pain of her father, suffering from progressive dementia, relates a story of having a dream where her dad was revealed carrying a treasure chest where Go seemed to be saying, … “All your dad’s memories are safely stored here,” … I’ll keep them in the meantime. Then one day, in heaven, I’ll return them to him.”   And knowing God’s promises from His word, the ODB author was strengthen to face the future trials of her father’s dementia.  

We’re all going to face trials and troubles in this life, won’t we?  All of the Scriptures above point to that reality.  However, God’s word also clearly gives us God’s promises of strength and even joy in dealing with the sufferings we encounter for God’s glory.  I am uplifted by the words of the linked song today and the promises from God’s word … that HE will give me HIS strength when I suffer in HIS name.  Will you join me to be uplifted as we live for our Lord today … and then on to our tomorrows?      

 

My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank You , Lord, for giving me the promises of Your strength when I feel weak and suffer for Your glory,.  

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray. again today, that all reading here will join me, … to capture Your promises, Lord, as we actually suffer in Your Name.  … Amen
