My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread  Author -  Xochitl Dixon  … AT THIS LINK  -recalls a time when the ODB author was recovering from an unexpected health challenge which she tried to overcome to join her husband and their fellow church friends at a retreat, where she had to climb a hill and a long staircase to reach the church; and in doing so, the author, stopped and sat down on one of the steps of the church staircase and prayed, ”Help me, Lord,”, knowing that God heard her and would give her His strength to go on and follow His way.     

The story reminded me that EVERY DAY, I start each day with a prayer of surrender, reciting from my heart portions of three of King David’s Psalms (Ps 19:14, Ps 63:1-4, and Ps 139:23-24).  It’s sort of of a Spiritual mantra for me, declaring my surrender to follow the Lord, no matter what I encounter, with the faith that God ALWAYS hears my prayers and gives me the strength to follow Him faithfully no matter what I encounter.  

And if my readers take in the linked song and the Scriptures cited above, you’ll see that surrender to follow the Lord is the ONLY way to deal with all we will encounter in life as we follow the Lord all the way to glory.     

My Thanksgiving … Oh, King Jesus, thank You for providing me with Your enabling grace, when I need it, as I do right now suffering with pneumonia.  

  

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray. again today, that all reading here will join me, … to lift praise from thankful hearts, dear Lord, as we surrender to follow You to glory.      …  Amen
