My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread author, Philip Yancey, relates the power each of us has as witnesses to others of God’s love, His mercy, and His salvation; but when we join together as His body, the Church, our witnessing power is magnified exponentially.
Yes, we must go out into the world, individually, as His followers and His witnesses; but when we do that in the power of two or three, or many more, we magnify the Jesus light in the world; and others can see Him so much easier in the power of His love through the Church [see John 13: 34-35].
No more need be said to convict us of our task; because as Steve Green sings in the song linked above, “People Need the Lord!”
My Prayer Today: Oh Lord, … help me to join with others in Your Name to shine Your light more brightly together than we can individually. Amen
