July 24, 2015 … Stand up … Speak Up!!

Daily Berry Patch Devotions in 2015 - Day 205

Devotional Song: … GO TO THIS LINK  … Please once again take the time to take in a video of Daniel O’Donnell singing the poignant song You Raise Me Up declaring the strength we get from God to become so much more than we think we can be in life, … becoming able to stand for truth in the face of those who would mock God.

Highlight Passage Luke 22: 54 [NKJV] …
54 Having arrested Him, they led Him and brought Him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed at a distance.
… They saw Him arrested, led away for trial, and mocked … and they said nothing in His defense.

… So, what are we doing when we see the voiceless and helpless being persecuted as with all of the unborn who are led to the slaughter or those being bullied on the internet.

Reference Passage #4 - Romans 12: 1-2 [NKJV] …
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
… We should all have this one memorized and internalized to live it out daily, … standing up and being heard, especially as we see the world becoming more vocally anti-Christ daily.

My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread author, Randy Kilgore, writes of the modern trend of cyber-bullying which is growing in our internet-driven culture where social media becomes a driving force in the world. Kilgore writes: When I hear stories about young people who have been bullied, I notice there are always at least two levels of hurt. The first and most obvious comes from the mean-spirited nature of those actually doing the bullying. … [And] … It hurts the one being bullied because they’re stunned that no one will help. [… AND …] That often makes bullies more brazen, leading them to intensify their meanness.

Jesus was certainly no stranger to the most savage bullying when He was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane and led to the Jewish leaders for trial. But did His inner Disciples, the ones who had walked with their Master for almost three years, stand up and make their voices counted during Christ’s passion. No (see the passages in Matthew, Mark, and Luke documented above), they bolted and ran; and Peter even denied His Savior thrice.

Where are we, followers of Christ, today when the voiceless and helpless myriads of babies are being slaughtered in the womb? Are we standing up for the many, many young people who are being bullied online in this social-media driven world? I ask all who are reading with me today, … are we doing all we can to stand up and be heard in this world where our judges are ignoring the Constitution and ignoring our Legislatures to make unGodly laws?

When, as Proverbs 31: 8 declares, are we going to open our mouths for the speechless or the helpless? … Let me pray for mercy and strength to help us to stand up and be heard in our world today.

My Prayer Today: Oh, my Lord, … help those of us who are call by Your Name to stand up and be heard - for YOU - when the bullies of this world try to mock You and decry Your truths. … Amen
