My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Elisa Morgan, asks some pointed questions about the legacy we’ll leave as Christians in this world. … The ODB author wrote: Thomas Edison invented the first practical electric light bulb. Jonas Salk developed an effective polio vaccine. Amy Carmichael penned many of the hymns we sing in worship. But what about you? Why were you put on earth? How will you invest your life?

Ouch! … Tough questions, huh? And they get right to the heart of the legacy we are living out as Christians in this world. And if you’re a Christian parent or grandparent, like yours truly, you pray that your kids and grandkids will become your legacy of Christlikeness, … pursuing Christ to the completion He promises all of us who follow after Him (see Phil. 1:6).

When you hear the linked song and see the attached photo, we know that kids tend to grow up imitating their parents. And for those of us who’ve been parents, … as Christ followers, … all we can hope and pray for our kiddos is what Paul wanted for all who might follow him [see 1Cor. 11:1]; and that is to pursue Christ and lead others to become like our Savior as well. That is my prayer for anyone reading here today as we do all we can to follow Christ as His disciples [see Luke 9:23].

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, ... for leading us to become Your eternal legacy.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray, Lord, that all reading here join me to do all we can to follow Christ and lead others to become like Him. . … Amen
