My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Adam Holz, uses a personal reflection to illustrate our knowing our fate in Christ should give us peace. … The ODB author wrote: My supervisor is a huge fan of a certain college basketball team. This year, they won the national championship, so another coworker texted him congratulations. The only problem was my boss hadn’t yet had a chance to watch the final game! He was frustrated, he said, knowing the outcome beforehand. [see photo] But, he admitted, at least when he watched the game he wasn’t nervous when the score stayed close to the end. He knew who won!
We never really know what tomorrow will hold. Some days can feel mundane and tedious, while other days are filled with joy. Still other times, life can be grueling, agonizing even, for long periods of time.
But despite life’s unpredictable ups and downs, we can still be securely grounded in God’s peace. Because, like my supervisor, we know the end of the story. We know who “wins.”

Fellow Christian, if we all believe in the truth of God’s word, life should be like watching a basketball game and already knowing the outcome.

Yes, we all face trials from the world in this life; but Jesus has promised that He has overcome the world (see John 16:33). … Yes, we all have bodily aches and pains (at least I sure do!); but God, thru Paul, shows us that in glory we will have no pain (see 1Cor. 15:42-44). … Yes, we all have anxieties, don’t we? But if we focus on the Lord and trust in His promises, we should be able to pray and find His unfathomable peace (see Isaiah 26:3 and Phil. 4:6-7).

How about it, dear one?! … Let’s watch the results of the game of life today KNOWING THAT WE WIN!!

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, ... for Your promises which give us peace to deal with the aches and pains and trials of this life.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray, Lord, that all reading here will join me to believe God’s promises which allow us to know what lies ahead in glory. … Amen
