October 1, 2019 … Grumble … Grumble!!

Berry Patch Devotions in 2019 - Day 274

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...  Please take the time to take in a YouTube video of song and lyrics from the Maranatha Singers singing Great Is Thy Faithfulness ... poignantly singing of how God is faithful to provide our needs … ALWAYS!!

==============
Highlight Verse[s]: Exodus 16:17-18 [NKJV] ... 17 The Israelites did as they were told; some gathered much, some little. 18 And when they measured it by the omer, the one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little. Everyone had gathered just as much as they needed.
… God provides the sustenance for His people for their 40 year wanderings in the wilderness … exactly what they needed.

… Paul relays God’s promise to Christians to ALWAYS supply our needs.

My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Cindy Hess Kasper, uses a relatively common household scenario to illustrate how we often see leftovers as a drag rather than as God’s blessing. … The ODB author wrote: When Kerry and Paul got married, neither one knew how to cook. But one night Kerry decided to try her hand at spaghetti—making so much that the couple had it for dinner again the next day. On the third day, Paul volunteered to cook, doubling the amount of pasta and sauce, hoping the huge pot would last through the weekend. As the couple sat down for dinner that night, however, it was Kerry who confessed, “I’m sick of (leftover) spaghetti.” [see photo]

Of you readers here, I would say that it’s not uncommon for us to “grumble” over leftovers if they are available to feed us several days in a row. Well, imagine what the grumbling was like when the Israelites were given manna … day-after-day, night-after-night … for 40 years! As we read in the Scriptures from Exodus 16 and Numbers 11, they grumbled to Moses about the “bread of life” God had given them.

 Q - If you believe in the truth of the Bible, as I do, do you believe God always tells the truth (see Num. 23:19)? … A - Of course, … God ALWAYS tells the truth? … Okay Q2 - What is God’s promise to provide for His children (that’s us, too)? … A2 - Well, God’s truth tells us that our Lord promises us that He will never let us go hungry, spiritually … (see John 6:35) and that He will ALWAYS provide us with our needs (see Phil. 4:19).

Hey, I come here everyday to take in God’s “bread of life;” and He ALWAYS dishes out my Spirit-given “manna” … EVERYDAY thru His word. And a lot of it is repetitive - almost like leftovers. But it ALWAYS gives me what I need for that day.

So, when we’re confronted with that leftover spaghetti tonight [see photo], … and maybe tomorrow night as well, … how about a little more thankfulness and a lot less grumbling?

=============
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, ... for ALWAYS being there to provide us with Your bread of life.
=============

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray, Lord, that all reading here will join me to thankfully partake of God’s provisions today … and tomorrow … and then, again the next day! … Amen
