My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Anne Cetas, compares having a loved one leave for a time to what those who witnessed Jesus ascend into the clouds must’ve felt like. … The ODB author wrote: My niece, her four-year-old daughter Kailyn, and I had a wonderful Saturday afternoon together. We enjoyed blowing bubbles outside, coloring in a princess coloring book, and eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. When they got in the car to leave, Kailyn sweetly called out the opened window, “Don’t forget me, Auntie Anne.” I quickly walked toward the car and whispered, “I could never forget you. I promise I will see you soon.”
In Acts 1, the disciples watched as Jesus was “taken up before their very eyes” into the sky (v. 9). [see photo] I wonder if they thought they might be forgotten by their Master.

And Jesus’ inner Disciples, and a number of other believers, who witnessed the ascension of Jesus into the clouds (see photo), must’ve wondered if they would experience His promised return for them. But oh what an unforgettable moment that must’ve been. However, not until God’s Spirit came to all believers at Pentecost did these new Christians realize what the group Third Day sings in the linked song … that they (we) have God’s blessed assurance that Jesus was theirs (and ours) FOREVER!!

So, revel with me - with a resounding PTL!!! - that our Bridegroom will return for His Bride … maybe even today!!
