God's Power on display in Hawaii

… God’s people, joyous at the majestic return of the Arc of the Covenant to Jerusalem also so it’s awesome display of God’s wrath when Uzzah died by mistakenly touching the Arc.

My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Tim Gustafson, uses a geological word picture to illustrate how God’s awesome beauty and majesty are on display in the erupting fury of a volcano on the big island of Hawaii. … The ODB author wrote: All is quiet, save for slowly stretching tentacles of hissing lava nipping at the edges of the tropical foliage. Residents stand grim-faced yet amazed. Most days they call this “paradise.” On this day, however, the fiery fissures in Hawaii’s Puna district [see photo] reminded everyone that God forged these islands via untamable volcanic power.
My wife and I lived in Hawaii for two years; and the stark contract between the beauty and majesty of the islands was so obvious, … especially on the big island of Hawaii, where the volcanoes, which God used to create the islands, spewed forth lava daily to show God’s awesome power.
And that contrast, between God’s wondrous presence and His awesome power was also seen when King David brought the Arc of the Covenant back to Jerusalem [see highlight passage]. And at that time, the glory and wrath of God was on display when Uzzah, one of the priests attending to the Arc, touched the Arc and died immediately (as God had warned His people in Numbers 4).
Yes, ... God’s presence and His power in our lives are awesome and always to be reverenced; but now, in the coming of our Messiah, we have the awesome privilege to come boldly into God’s presence … anytime/anywhere …that is, any of us who have received the saving grace of God’s glory thru our redemption by the blood of the Lamb of God. [see Heb. 4:16]
And so I pray that we all do so today, knowing that we can partake of God’s love and grace, … with His mercies being new everyday (see Lam. 3:22-23).
