… God’s prescription for His amazing grace and peace and the antidote for worry … i.e., thankful prayer and a trusting relationship with Christ.

My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, James Banks, uses a crisis situation to illustrate how, when we face the storms of trouble in life, we must rest in our relationship with Christ. … The ODB author wrote: As Hurricane Florence was bearing down on Wilmington, North Carolina, with devastating force, [see photo] my daughter prepared to leave her home. She’d waited until the last moment, hoping the storm would veer away. But now she was hurriedly sorting through important papers, pictures, and belongings, trying to decide what to take with her. “I didn’t expect it would be so hard to leave,” she told me later, “but in that moment I didn’t know if anything would be there when I got back.”
Life’s storms come in many forms: hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, unexpected problems in marriage or with children, the sudden loss of health or finances. So much we value can be swept away in a moment.

I think we all know that we’re going to face storms of trouble or trial in life. But as in the ODB story above, how do we handle those storms? And if we truly have a close and abiding relationship with the LORD, He answers that question soundly with the scriptures provided above. In fact thru several OT and NT authors, … like Solomon, Isaiah, Paul, and no less than Jesus Himself ,… God gives us His prescription for peace.

And that, of course, is to focus on Him (Is. 26:3), … to trust in Him (Prov. 3:5-6), … to believe that He has overcome the world (John 16:33, … and to simply pray to Him, with a thankful heart [Phil. 4:6-7].

But the question is … WILL WE?

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, ... for being our refuge.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray, Lord, that all reading here will join me, to trust that You can - and will - give us Your peace when we rest and trust in You. … Amen
