My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread devotional entry, authored by David McCasland, uses the illustration of Charles Dicken’s character, Ebenezer Scrooge, in the play A Christmas Carol, making reference to Scrooge’s conversion as a sign that the heart of Christmas had become part of Scrooge, changing him completely during the Advent season.

And there was another biblical character whom God, a real person this time, who was converted from selfishness to The Savior; and that was rabid Christian-hater, Saul of Tarsus, who became the Apostle Paul. And Paul had a powerful testimony of deliverance and redemption which he often used to declare the power of Christ through the Gospel to save the lost. And the ODB author for today, David McCasland, believes this point is the heart of the Advent Season (see 1st Timothy 1: 15 above) … that Jesus, The Christ, came into this world as a human, … yet Divine, to save the lost, of whom Paul felt he had been the chief sinner.

In this Advent season, let us all remember how Jesus saved you and me; and let us be willing to share that testimony of deliverance with others.

My Prayer for Today … Lord, … Show me whom You desire I share my witness during this season. Amen
