Berry Patch Devotions in 2020 - Day 314
Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ... Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Kristian Stanfill singing … More Like Jesus … poignantly singing of how we, as Christians, need to do all we can to serve others as Jesus did.
==============
Highlight Passage: Hebrews 6:10 [ESV] ...
10 For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for His name in serving the saints, as you still do.
… God sees the work we do selflessly for His kingdom.

Reference Passage: … Philippians 2:3-5 [ESV] … USE THIS LINK …
… God, thru Paul, exhorts Christians to exhibit Christlike humility as we choose to serve others first rather than ourselves.
Reference Passage: … Hebrews 10:24-25 [ESV] … USE THIS LINK …
… God’s word calls Christians to stir up love by gathering to encourage one another.
Reference Passage: … 1Peter 4:10 [ESV] …
10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:
… Every Christian has been given at least one gift which we should use to serve our Lord and others.
My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Dave Branon, AT THIS LINK writes about his grandchildren desiring a lead role in a children’s production of Alice In Wonderland [See photo]; … but he reports his joy in seeing his grandkids genuinely happy when other friends got the lead roles and they ended up being “flowers” in the play.
And that’s the kind of humble attitude, … i.e., to serve others behind the scenes, … that Jesus modeled; and it’s the attitude He desires us to emulate.
That’s why we read of Jesus modeling that kind of service, … for example, washing the feet of His disciples in the Upper Room [see John 13]. And that’s the kind of selfless service Kristian Stanfill sings about in the linked song and what God’s word calls all of us Christians to bring out as disciples of Christ (see reference passages above).
So, … what role will we want to play today? Will we be willing to serve our Lord “behind the scenes;” or will we be trying to play the lead role in God’s passion play for our lives?
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for giving me a small role to play for Your glory. Help me to play it well.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray that all reading here will join me to use our gifts and talents to play out the role You have given us to play for Your glory today. … Amen
