My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread Author, Cindy Hess Kasper  …  USE THS LNK  -  …  told of stopping on a long road trip and encountering a young man, mopping the floors in a rest-stop and singing the familiar song, “it Is Well With My Soul,” (use the song link), and the OBD author joined the young man to sing the chorus together.  And returning to author’s car, her husband ask why she had such a joyous smile on her face.   

Spontaneously singing praises to God, which is called for by the Scriptures shared above, and telling of our praises to God, will certainly lift our Spirits, won’t it?   And today’s ODB entry, as well as the linked song, has certainly lifted me up today.   How about you?

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread Author, Katara Patton  …  USE THS LNK  -     …  wrote about seeing a TV show where one of six sisters related their story of coming together to enter nursing school and working TOGETHER to help each other to become registered nurses, … which they completed TOGETHER.  

And the story of these sisters, is much like the biblical story of five sisters coming TOGETHER to petition Moses (see Highlight passage) to receive the inheritance of land from their father who had died without a male heir.   And Moses received from God the pronouncement to grant those sisters their father’s inheritance, which went against the traditions of the day.

And if my readers have taken in the linked song and the Scriptures shared above, I hope we all see that God’s word, which is our perfect “GPS” in life,  will show us how we Christians must come TOGETHER to follow God’s way … all the way to glory.  That’s my way today and tomorrow!   Are you with me?

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread Author, Bill Crowder  …  USE THS LNK  -      …  wrote about Thomas de Mahy, an aristocrat during the French revolution in the 18th century, who, when he received a death warrant from the mobs of that day, was quoted as saying, “I see that you have made three spelling mistakes.”  De Mahy obviously ignored the important reality that he was facing a life or death consequence for his existence.

How many of us go through life ignoring the most important reality, and that is our position on whether Jesus died and was raised to defeat sin AND DEATH … just as the linked song and the Scriptures above attest.   And we, who have faith in Christ’s death and resurrection, realize that we are called to bear witness to our faith in the truth of “The Gospel;” … so that all who need God’s saving grace will be able to hear God’s “GOOD NEWS,” … and to receive it.  I’m certainly one of those who has decided to believe in and follow Jesus as my Lord.  How about you?

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread Author, Arthur Jackson  …  USE THS LNK  -    …  wrote about the Miami Dolphins in the NFL in 1973 as the only team to ever win the Super Bowl and have a perfect record during the regular season.  And the ODB author uses this sports illustration of what VICTORIOUS looks like in the world, just as Jesus was perfectly victorious when it came to showing those who faithfully followed Him how to live a victorious life by following Him (see photo).

And if my readers today have taken in the linked song and meditated on the Scriptures shared above, I’m praying that we all will take God’s word seriously, and, as Lydia Walker sings, decide to faithfully follow Jesus … with NO TURNING BACK!  I’m trying again today - and every day…to do just that!   How about you?
