My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread devotional entry, authored by David McCasland, refers to another author as he writes … Educator and best-selling author Tony Wagner is a firm believer in “disruptive innovation” that changes the way the world thinks and works. In his book Creating Innovators: The Making of Young People Who Will Change the World, he says, “Innovation occurs in every aspect of human endeavor,” and “most people can become more creative and innovative—given the right environment and opportunities.”
And that’s exactly what the Apostle Paul was teaching to the Church in Rome [and to us as modern day Christians] when he wrote in today’s highlight verses - under the inspiration of God in today’s highlight passages - about the power of total surrender - as a “living sacrifice” - to God’s will and His way through His word, which gives the Christian the power to resist the way of the world and the leadings of Satan, … transforming us … “by the renewing of our minds” … with all the power we need into Christlikeness (see 2nd Peter 1: 2-4, linked above).
The question is, … in our current world (i.e., culture), are we willing to go into surrender mode to God’s Spirit to capture the power that God offers to become more like Christ tomorrow than today and more like Him today than yesterday?
That’s God’s plan for me (and for you); and I, for one, plan to surrender to it!!
My Prayer for Today … Lord, … I surrender all … prayerfully more today than yesterday … and even more tomorrow !! Amen
