My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread devotional entry, authored by Jennifer Schuldt, took her readers (among them, me) back to the Old Testament prophesies of that “weeping prophet,” Jeremiah, … when he was charged to bring the bad news to Judah that they were about to be overrun by the Babylonians. Jeremiah was persecuted severely for his prophesies; and he lamented having even been born; … but even more to be the bearer of God’s bad news. Yet, in spite of the anguish and his own pain, he trusted in his God; and he went forward to carry God’s news to His peoples.

Oh how much more we have been given through God’s truth to be God’s messengers; … but now, as Jesus spoke to His disciples in the John 14 & 16 passages above, our Lord, Who is, as the Maranatha singers sing in the above linked song, our help in ages past - AND PRESENT - has sent us His helper, His comforter, His “paraklete,” … the Holy Spirit, … so that, as Jeremiah trusted Him to deliver God’s people, so we can trust in our Lord for deliverance no matter what we face.

Today’s attached photo may be over the edge with it’s levity; but I do hope we all take in all God gave me to share today; and then we take these truths and rely on God IN ALL THINGS. Let’s go out and have a “F.R.O.G.” day (“… Forever Relying On God!!!).

My Prayer for Today … Lord, … Relying on You in all things!! Amen
