My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Evan Morgan , uses an alignment of stars [i.e., Orion’s Belt} to illustrate how it’s often difficult to see life the way God sees it. … The ODB author wrote: I was unexpectedly drawn to focus on Orion’s Belt—those three perfectly arranged stars often visible on clear nights. [see photo] I knew just enough about astronomy to understand that those three stars were hundreds of light years apart.
I realized the closer I could be to those stars, the less they would appear to be aligned. Yet from my distant perspective, they looked carefully configured in the heavens. At that moment, I realized I was too close to my life to see what God sees. In His big picture, everything is in perfect alignment.

The ODB illustration does help us realize that the way we see things and the way God sees them is often perplexing for us … but ALWAYS in alignment with God’s view. Often, because of the way we see life, we have trouble seeing with way in life the way God sees it. That’s what’s going on in these confusing viral times in which we live, isn’t it. Things don’t seem in alignment the way we’d like to see them, are they?

It’s hard these days to see what Jeremy Camp sings about in the linked song … that Jesus is the answer (see also Paul’s message in Col. 1:16). It’s hard, seeing life these days, to discern and believe the truth of Romans 8:28, isn’t it? But we know, that even tho God’s ways are way above our ability to see them (see Isaiah 55:8-9), we still must surrender and do all we can to follow Him (see Prov. 3:5-6).

That is my prayer for us today.
