My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, James Banks, AT THIS LINK reflects on the biblical authenticity of Phillip Brooks’ old Christmas hymn, O Come O Come Emmanuel which so accurately sings of God sending His Son to be born of a virgin in a Bethlehem manger to save us and to be with us forever.
And I pray, as we move into the Advent Season, meditating on the truth and power of the Scriptures above, describing what God did in sending His Son to fulfill all those Old Testament prophesies and to become “Emmanuel,” … God with us, … so that we could see Him and be saved by God in the flesh.
O how this season should encourage us and give us the eternal hope of Salvation … as we make our “Emmanuel” the reason for the season, … remembering that He came to make you and me the reason for this season. Oh, HALLELUJAH!!
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for coming to be with us and save us from ourselves.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray that all reading here will join me today to raise our thanks and praise for God becoming our Emmanuel in His Son, our Savior and King, Jesus, the Christ. … Amen
