My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Xochitl Dixon, AT THIS LINK writes of how the glitz and glamor from the world seemed to take her attention away from what is really important at Christmas. But the handmade tree ornaments made by the author’s son (see photo) helped bring her focus back to Jesus where it should be … ALWAYS, … let alone at Christmas!
Oh how easy it is for us to let the world and our personal desires or challenges take our attention away from our Savior at Christmas; … and really at all times … away from the One Whom we honor at Christmas. Yes, you’ve heard it before said of the Advent season, ”Jesus is the reason for the season!”
And that is, of course, true. However, … because He did come to save all of us us by being born in that manger on that first Christmas, … He came so that He could ultimately die on a cross to make US His reason for this season. And we need to remember that … on Christmas, yes; but really remember it all the days of our lives. And if a homemade Christmas tree ornament helps us do that, … well, PTL!!
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for what You did to make me (and all of us) Your reason for this season.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray that all reading here will join me today, to remember how Jesus made you and me His reason for this season. … Amen
