My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Anne Cetas, AT THIS LINK tells a story of a family discovering at Christmas that their contentment was not focused on things under the tree, … a lesson we all need to learn - or relearn - at this time of abundance and gift giving.
How often does God’s word put forth the truth that our contentment will never be found in worldly wealth or the accumulation of things in this life? … Well, if you take in the Scriptures above (and many more in God’s word), we see that God OFTEN repeats His teaching that we must TRUST in God’s provision and not our own desire or works to be content in this life. And that’s a lesson which can be ignored or overlooked all too easily in this Advent season.
I pray all reading here are doing all we can this Christmas, especially in these viral times, to trust God and be grateful for His provision. Because, as the group Hillsong sings in the linked song, … “Christ Is Enough!”
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for providing for our needs … ALWAYS …
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray that all reading here will join me, in this Advent season, gratefully being content and trusting that our Lord will provide our needs. … Amen
