My Journal for Today: When you look into the vast expanse of the heavens on a clear night, what does that visage say to you? … Do you see the face of God on display? … Are you occasionally overwhelmed, as I am, by what God has created out there … and then here all around us? Because I was just as overwhelmed when I observed the birth of our first child, … also His creation. And when, on a warm spring morning – at sunrise – I’ve almost been brought to tears by a glorious sunrise or the birds singing, almost as if they’re praising the God Who gave them their being.

And when Jesus was trying to tell of our dependence on God in His wondrous Sermon on the Mount (see Matthew 6, linked above), He used the word picture of His creation to make His point. And Paul declared that we have no excuse or reason to doubt the existence of God when we but look around us and take in the wonders of Creation [see Romans, Chapter 1 linked above].

And I REALLY BEG YOU to use the link above to see the glorious video of Brian Doerksen’s wonderful song, Creation Calls, which lifts me up every time I hear it in the context of the wonderful images in the video. As the Psalmists declared in Psalms 19 and 50 [see links above], God almost screams His existence, and certainly declares His glory, all around us through His creation. And so, the next time you look up into the heavens or take in a beautiful sunrise or sunset or feel the summer breezes brushing your face, … realize that God Himself is speaking to you of His glory.

My Prayer for Today … Lord, even as the sun rises this morning, I know You are hugging me from the promises of Your creation. … Amen
