Reference Passage #1: Mathew 19: 13-15 [NKJV] …
13 Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” 15 And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.

Reference Passage #2: John 3: 16 [NKJV] … [I’m sure any who read here know it well!]

My Journal for Today: It’s one of the simplest, but yet profound, songs in the Church; and you probably know the chorus, having sung it as a child …

Jesus loves me!
This I know, For the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to Him belong;
They are weak but He is strong.

And we often see depictions of Jesus being so somber; but the attached photo of Jesus is one of my favorites, with our Lord romping with little ones, just as I might imagine He did when the little children came to Him, as we read in Matthew 19, the passage quoted above.

Jesus loved HIS CHILDREN, enough to die for them (i.e, us) – see today’s highlight passage from John 19, plus John 3: 16, which you very likely know by heart. Yes, as the songs, linked above, sing, “Jesus loved the little children.” And having just returned from a conference on the social plague of childhood slavery in our world, I just wonder how much we love the little children to do what Jesus charged His disciples in Matthew 19: 14.

What are we doing to allow God’s little children to come to him?

My Prayer for Today … Oh, Lord, give me the where-with-all to do all I can to bring those little ones to You. … Amen
