Reference Passage #1: Matthew 9: 37-38 [NKJV] …
7 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

Reference Passage #2: Matthew 28: 18-20 [NKJV] … 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

My Journal for Today: Take a look at the attached photo, which depicts the essence of what my Our Daily Bread brought to my remembrance this morning. And it’s true that God places us and asks of us (no, really, commands us), as His children, to become just like His Son so that we can do the work as His gardeners in His field.

If you take in the context references (# 1- 3 above), you’ll see that, every time God had a major task to accomplish, He would prepare, then charge, and finally send His children out to do His task on earth. And when we’re growing and developing as God’s children, we tend to imitate the Father by becoming like the Son. It’s also that way with our earthly father – son relationships (see the attached photo and hear the linked song); and it SHOULD be that way with our growing relationship with our Heavenly Father.

So, today we’ll go out into His field; as Jesus charged His disciples, a field white unto harvest, and do Christ’s bidding by working for the Father’s glory. We do that to fulfill the “Great Commission” (see Matthew 28: 19-20 above); but we do it best when, just like Jesus did, become all we can be to work for and glorify our Heavenly Father. So, let’s go and be just like our Abba Father today.

My Prayer for Today … Lord, show me the task that You, my Abba Father, wants accomplished for Your glory; and let me do it just like Your Son did to honor You. … Amen
