Feb 5, 2021 … Hold On Tight!

Berry Patch Devotions in 2020 - Day 36

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ... Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Steven Curtis Chapman singing … Hold On … Poignantly singing of how we, as disciples of Christians, need to hold on tightly to our relationship with Christ especially during the rough storms of life.

Hold on tight to Jesus' hand in the storm ...

Highlight Passage: Isaiah 41:13 [ESV] ...

13 For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”

… We are to leave a Godly legacy to our children and those in our sphere of influence.

Highlight Passage [Context]: … Isaiah 41:10-13 [ESV] … USE THIS LINK …

… God, thru Isaiah’s prophesy, promises to be there for us in the storms of life, inviting us to hold on tight to Hand of Grace.

Reference Passage: … Proverbs 3:5-6 [ESV] ... USE THIS LINK …

God, thru Solomon, leads us to trust our Lord … ALWAYS!!

Reference Passage: … Matthew 28:20b [ESV] ...

28b … And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Jesus’ promise to all who would seek to follow Him that He would always be there with and for us … ALWAYS.

Reference Passage: … 1Corinthians 10:13 [ESV] ...

13 No temptation [also translated “trial or trouble”] has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

God promises, thru Paul, that we can endure any temptation or trial with Him at our side.

Reference Passage: … James 1:2-4 [ESV] ...

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

God, thru James, charges fellow Christians, under oppression, to steadfastly hold on to Christ.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Dave Branon, AT THIS LINK quotes the courage of Harriet Tubman, who led hundreds of slaves from the South to freedom in the North prior to and during the Civil War, … who said,… “I always told God, I’m going to hold steady on you, and you’ve got to see me through.”

And can you think of a better or stronger attitude of steadfast courage for us to keep on keeping on during these pandemic and problematic times we’re living thru now? Steven Curtis Chapman, in the linked song, sings for us to trust God (also in the Scriptures above), holding to God’s promises to always be with us; giving us His hand of love and grace when we feel like we’re drowning (see photo).

Oh how I pray that we all hold tight to His promises; because our Lord will ALWAYS BE THERE for us.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for Your promises to be there when we need you to go thru the storms of life.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray that all reading here will join me, …to hold tightly to God’s promises during these stormy times. … Amen
