My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Kenneth Peterson … AT THIS LINK … tells of research at Emory University with scans on the brains of grandmothers, which revealed that a grandmother’s empathy and love for their grandkids was even stronger than than her love for her own children. And consider the findings of James Rilling, who conducted the study: “If their grandchild is smiling, [the grandmother is] feeling the child’s joy. And if their grandchild is crying, they’re feeling the child’s pain and distress.”
Do you realize, … my fellow Christian readers, … that these findings mirror the truths expressed in the linked song and the Scriptures shared above; … that God’s love is like the grandmothers in the study; because God grieves when we suffer and He revels with joy when we are living with His joy in our lives. We can ALWAYS rely on God’s unchanging and ALWAYS available love and mercy; … and, thru His Son’s love and shed blood, we can ALWAYS rely on His salvation and His empowering grace … FOREVER.
So, my friends, … will you join me to praise our Lord with our surrendered commitment to live for our King Jesus more diligently and effectively today.
