August 1, 2022 … We’re In This Together …

Berry Patch Devotions in 2021 - Day 213

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...   Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Chris Tomlin singing … Together … poignantly singing that we’re never alone when we’re serving Christ in this world.

Serving the Lord in Christian community ...

==============

Highlight Passage: … 2Timothy 4:16-17 [NLT] …

16 The first time I was brought before the judge, no one came with me. Everyone abandoned me. May it not be counted against them. 17 But the Lord stood with me and gave me strength so that I might preach the Good News in its entirety for all the Gentiles to hear. And he rescued me from certain death.

  Paul felt alone when he was writing Timothy and sensing eminent death in prison; but declaring that the Lord was also with him as the Apostle served God in his mission to share the Gospel with the Gentiles.

Highlight Passage (Context): … 2Timothy 4:9-21 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

  Paul shows fellow Christians that we’re never alone when we’re serving Christ TOGETHER.

God, thru the author of Hebrews, charges Christians to join in community to worship and serve the Lord TOGETHER.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Tim Gustafson … AT THIS LINK  tells a touching story of how the family of Kelly, a young brain cancer victim who had COVID-19 and was restricted from having visitors.  So, the family gathered together outside her hospital window and showed her their love with signs and placards expressing their love and support.

And this story illustrates what the Apostle Paul felt in prison as he wrote about his last days and how the love of fellow Christians lifted his spirits (see highlight passage).  And it also illustrates the reference Scriptures above which call on Christians to come TOGETHER in community to serve the Lord, sharing our burdens and resources to experience the power of God’s grace working thru Christian community.

So, … what can we do TOGETHER with fellow Christians to show our love and share our resources to serve God for HIs glory today?

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for always being with us, Lord, to serve You as Your Family today.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, …  to come TOGETHER to serve You again today.    … Amen
