My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Tom Felton … AT THIS LINK  writes about a horrible flood,  which caused disaster to much of western Europe in 1717, leading government leaders gathering in a church in Groningen, in the Netherlands, to pray to God for deliverance.

Often in the history of mankind it has taken disaster to wake up God’s people to the sovereignty of God.  In today’s highlight passage, God showed His people, thru the Prophet Joel, their need for God by sending a hoard of locusts (see photo) to consume the land.  And taking in the linked song and meditating on the Scriptures above, I - for one - realize what God has said over and over in His word … that He is our sovereign LORD … and as Paul taught fellow Christians in Romans 8;28, … that no matter what befalls us in life; … yes, even disaster, … it is for our good and His glory.

And Jesus, Himself, warns us, (in Mark, Chapter 13), that things will turn very dark with wars and natural disasters just before He will come again for His bride.  And we see it beginning right now, don’t we?  So, let’s all be alert and stand strong to await, … with faith, … our Lord coming again for us.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for reminding that, no matter what may befall us in this life, You, Lord, are in control.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, …  to stay alert with faith and stand strong today, Lord, because You ALWAYS in control !!    … Amen
