Berry Patch Devotions in 2023 - Day 42

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ... Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Chris Tomlin and Chris Lane singing Gifts From God … poignantly and powerfully singing of the many gifts we receive from God’s grace, … the greatest, of course, being salvation.

God's greatest free gift ...

Highlight Passage: …1Timothy 1:15 [NLT] …

15 This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them all.

… Paul showing Timothy (and all born-again Christians that if our God would gift him (Paul) with salvation, our Lord would make that gift available to anyone.

Highlight Passage (Context): … 1Timothy 1:12-16 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

Paul teaching Timothy (and us) that God’s most undeserved gift to Paul (and all Christians) was His death to save us on the cross (see photo).

===============                                                                     .

Reference Passage: … John 14:6 [NLT] …

Jesus told [His disciples] “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

… Jesus declares, the night before He would go to the cross, that the only way to have eternal life with the Father, is to believe in Him, Who would give them (and us) eternal life by dying on the cross.

Reference Passage: … Acts 4:12 [NLT] …

12 There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”.

… God’s word declares that belief in Christ’s finished work on the cross is the only way to salvation

Reference Passage: … Romans 5:8 [NLT] …

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

… Paul shows fellow Christians God’s greatest love and gift to mankind was dying on the cross to save them (and us) from sin.

Reference Passage: … 2Corinthians 5:21 [NLT] …

21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

… Paul teaches truth to fellow Christians that God gave His Son, our Lord, as a free offering to give us eternal life.

Reference Passage: … Ephesians 2:8-9 [NLT] …

God saved you by is grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

… Again, Paul repetitively teaches that salvation is is a gift from God, not anything we can do to earn it.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Karen Pimpo … AT THIS LINK tells of being surprised by a gift from a friend, who was trying to help the ODB author be relieved from work stresses, .feeling undeserved in perceiving that her friend was under more stress that she was.

Could there be any more undeserved gift, to relieve the stress of our sin nature, than our Lord dying on a cross (see photo), to give any of us salvation. It is the most undeserved, but gracious, offering; and it’s available to any of us who are willing to receive it by our belief in Christ’s finished work on the cross.

Do you have it? I pray so!

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for giving me Your precious gift of eternal life. I receive it, gratefully.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to receive God’s greatest gift of eternal life. … Amen
