My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread Author - James Banks … AT THIS LINK - … described how Michelangelo and other Renaissance artists depicted Moses and the radiant beams coming from his head as “horns” (see photo) because of the mistaken translation of Moses’ coming down from the mountain, having been with God, and the mistaken description in the Latin (i.e., Vulgate version of Exodus 34:29) version of the bible as “horns.”
And the ODB entry today asks its readers (like you and me) today if we’d ever mistakenly identified someone in our life, which all of us have likely done. Well, those who called for Jesus to be crucified - or those who don’t believe Jesus to be the “Son of God;” - most certainly have made - or are making - the worst mistake of their (our) lives. Because, the label we put on Jesus on the cross - as “King of the Jews,” which was to mock The Lord, was actually perfectly true. And those of us (and that means YOU), who do believe that Jesus was - AND IS - the King of kings and LORD of lords - have correctly labeled Jesus as our Messiah and will be with Him forever in Heaven. And … oh, how I pray that is your status right now. It is certainly mine! So, … I’ll see you soon in glory!
My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank You, … for dying on that Cross so that I will be with You FOREVER.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray, … again today, … that all reading here will join me, … to praise You, Lord, for being our Messiah’ and for coming soon to take us Home to be with You forever. … Amen
