My Devotional JournalToday’s Our Daily Bread Author - Brent Hackett AT THIS LINK    The ODB author reviewed a study done to determine the connection between the amount of sleep and rest done by young people who were also reported to be depressed and non-productive.  And about the results, one young woman commented; …“I never seem to know when to stop—I push myself so hard that I end up making myself sick from lack of sleep and stress.” The study had supported the girl’s observation, showing that we all need a quota of rest and sleep to be productive in life.

And today’s ODB entry and the truth from God’s word - shared in the Scriptures shared above - God’s call on all His people to rest in the Lord and allow Him to provide the strength, as Steven Curtis Chapman sings, to be fruitful in serving the Lord.  So … ??? … Are we, like Mary, in the Highlight Passage, taking enough time to simply rest in Christ’s love/grace so that we can be fruitful, working with His strength for God’s glory?   I pray so!

My Thanksgiving:Oh, King Jesus, thank You, … for allowing - and calling me - to devote time to just be with You, Lord, … every morning, … soaking up Your enabling grace to serve You fruitfully each day.

My Prayer TodayOh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray, … again today, … that all reading here will join me, …  to sit at Your feet each day, Lord, allowing Your strength to enable us to serve You fruitfully.     … Amen
