My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread devotional entry, authored by Randy Kilgore, relates the story of Lew Wallace, the great Civil War General, who became Governor of the New Mexico Territory right after the Civil War. And General Wallace, inspired by the lost culture of the “wild west” in those days wrote his famous book, Ben Hur - A Tale of The Christ, which was called the most influential book of the 19th Century in America. Wallace believed that the story of the Christ redeeming the world was THE STORY to cure the social ills of any generation.

Today, this ODB entry by Randy Kilgore reminds me that all Christians have a story of redemption, … a story of light to share with any darkened generation, … a story of The Christ, which is far more personal and powerful than even the great redemption story related by General Lew Wallace. My story is a story for the ages, … just as is your story of being REDEEMED, … as Big Daddy Weave sings in the linked song above.

Whom will we encounter today who needs to hear our story of being redeemed and renewed by the blood of Christ?

My Prayer for Today O Lord, … Give me an opportunity to share my story with someone who needs to hear Your story. … Amen
