March 17, 2020 … Even If Life Sucks!

Berry Patch Devotions in 2019 - Day 77

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...  Please take the time to take in song and lyrics from Zach Williams singing Fear Is A Liar … poignantly singing of how we need to trust in a God who would NEVER lie us thru the circumstances of life.

Which will it be today? !!

=============
Highlight Verse[s]: Isaiah 65:24 [ESV] ... USE THIS LINK …  24  Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear.
… In Heaven, God will answer our needs before we every ask them; … now, He desires we ask, trusting that He cares for our needs.
==============
Highlight Passage [context]: Isaiah 65:17-25 [ESV] ... USE THIS LINK ...
… God, thru Isaiah, prophesies what it will be like in Heaven.
==============

Reference Passage : … Psalm 37:3-5 [ESV] … USE THIS LINK
… We are charged by God’s song, thru David, to trust - and even delight - in God no matter our circumstances; … yes, even when we don’t understand them.

Reference Passage : … Proverbs 3:5-6 [ESV] … 5  Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.
… Even when we can’t understand God’s motives, we must trust His caring lead in our lives.

Reference Passage : … Romans 8:28 [ESV] … 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,  for those who are called according to his purpose.
… This truth, tho hard to understand at times, leads us to realize that God ALWAYS has our good in mind as we walk thru the circumstances of life.

Reference Passage : … 1 Peter 5:6-7 [ESV] … 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.
… Even if we don’t understand our circumstances, we’re to humble ourselves and bring them to God, KNOWING that He ALWAYS cares for our well being.

My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Amy Peterson, uses a story of two married friends whose loving anticipation of each other’s needs illustrates an even greater loving relationship with God and His children. … The ODB author wrote: My friends Robert and Colleen have experienced a healthy marriage for decades, and I love watching them interact. One will pass the butter to the other at dinner before being asked for it. The other will refill a glass at the perfect moment. When they tell stories, they finish each other’s sentences. Sometimes it seems they can read each other’s mind.
It’s comforting that God knows and cares for us even more than any person we know and love.

Do we get it?!! … EVERYTHING which is going on in our lives, … yes, even the stuff which “sucks,” … is part of God’s plan and His purposes for us. Yes, it’s ALL and ALWAYS for our good [see Scriptures above]. Because, even if it’s painful and we don’t understand it, what’s going on now is part of God’s plan for us and for His glory in the process.

Sometimes, like many of you I’m sure, I have trouble with those truths above. But they are true nonetheless. And we do need to believe them, don’t we: … trusting that we can move on today, knowing that our God cares for us and that He ALWAYS knows what is best for us. So, I pray that, if life sucks for any of us today, we can ask God how we can grow closer to Him from our circumstances and then let go of the fear-based “WHY” questions as Zach Williams sings about in the linked song?

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for bringing us a life which draws us closer to You.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray, Lord, that all reading here will join me to trust in God today, … even if life is “sucky” all around. Amen
